Modifying the Classroom Environment to Increase Engagement and Decrease Disruption with Students Who Are Deaf or Hard of Hearing

This paper explores how classroom environments impacts behaviour, attitudes, involvement, and achievement or students with auditory impairments.  Environmental aspects considered include, seating positions, classroom design, density, privacy, noise, and the presence or absence of windows.  The research also considers ecological perspectives, as well as open school designs.
